Congratulations, Vinny and Harper!
Harper, one of our gorgeous little Berliner Kurze babies, came in First Place at a local New York show for his new owner, Vinny C! First Place!! This is awesome news, and we can't wait to hear how Harper places in the 2011 Lancaster show! A huge thank you to Vinny for taking such good care of Harper and showing him!

Babie, another one of our perfect little Berliners, was Champion Berliner at the Colorado State Pigeon Association show on December 4, 2010! Her dad, Scott P, is awfully proud of her and so are we! Scott, thank you so much for taking such excellent care of Babie and helping her become a little Champion!

One rainy April afternoon in 2006, a tiny five day old baby feral pigeon found his way out of a Brooklyn, NY puddle and into Kari Jo Maracic's warm, loving hands. "Brooklyn" made the trip with Kari Jo back to sunny California - and the pair have been inseparable since. Brooklyn seemed an anomaly, with his incredibly tame and snuggly disposition, playfulness, and unyielding devotion to Kari Jo.
Before long, Sugarbunnie Loft was built and Kari Jo set out to find the finest pigeons from the most esteemed breeders. Her foundation birds were cherry picked for their personalities, as much as they were for their quality and lineage, and before long a superb selection of breeding pairs had been formed. With a background in Animal Behavior, Kari Jo embarked on an unusual approach to raising pigeons...
Handled daily, given an abundance of toys and in-house playtime, these birds quickly tamed beyond mere docility and developed their own unique personalities. Without the use of food rewards! What Kari Jo quickly discovered was that Brooklyn was no anomaly! It seemed any pigeon could be tamed if given the right environment.
Sugarbunnie pigeons breed only twice a year, and on occasion some of these babies are available for purchase.
In the loft or in the lap, Sugarbunnie pigeons are truly exquisite. We are so glad to have the opportunity to share them with you!
