Kari Jo has worked with all kinds of animals since she was a child, and has over two decades of experience working with domestic animals, like dogs and cats, as well as native and exotic wildlife! With a solid background in Animal Behavior and extensive education in Positive Reinforcement and Alternative Behavior Training, Kari Jo reaches out to those special cases whenever possible. Rescue expenses are paid out of pocket, our minimal adoption fees help us defray these costs.

Know of an animal in need? Be it a dog, cat, parrot, pigeon, kinkajou, coati, bat, rooster, python, tortoise, lizard, squirrel, deer, donkey, piglet, emu, or sea monkey - we can help! While we can't take them all in, years of rescue work have helped us compile a nice list of resources and contacts. Let us help point you in the right direction. We do on occasion take in special cases, and are always happy to offer advice, options, and information at no cost, whenever possible. Contact us below!

Sometimes we have dogs, cats, pigeons, or some other critter available for adoption. Photos and info will be posted here, in addition to an announcement on the site's main page. All adoptions consist of an adoption application, landlord permission form, phone or personal interview, and signed contract. We won't put you through the rigamarole, but do like to ensure our babies are going to a suitable home. Our adoption fees are always minimal and very fair, never inflated, and help defray the costs of rescue. A large portion of our fees are donated to Westside German Shepherd Rescue in LA. If you've been been approved to adopt Baby Filet, please download the Adoption Contract below. Print 2 copies. You will need to complete, initial, and sign both copies. Send them both via USPS mail to Kari Maracic at the address shown on the document within 7 business days. Please include your adoption fee when sending your completed applications, or you may remit payment to paypal (plus a $3 processing fee) using the email address indicated on the end of the document.
