Sugarbunnie Loft

Paddington and GooGoo, could there be a more perfect pair of Ancients? GooGoo was an unexpected addition to the loft and quickly became one of our favorites because of her nosy and bossy attitude! Tiny and typey, we just love her! Paddington  comes to us from John Heppner, and he definitely knows he's hot stuff!

The Friedmans. By far the most comical pair in the loft! Friedman was picked up from a SoCal breeder at the 2008 Pageant of Pigeons and definitely has the biggest personality in the loft! He loves walking around the house and is even potty trained! Mrs. Friedman, a DeCarlo Jr. hen, is a real lady and a wonderful mother. In fact, this pair really surprised us when we discovered they could raise their own young. We've even had them help with our Berliner Kurze babies! Why are our Budapests so robust, charming, and adorable?! We don't know. But we sure do love them!!!

Jules and Sylvie. Our gorgeous and charming Classic Old Frills. Sylvie is a total sweetheart, very affectionate and snuggly. Her favorite thing to do is slip out of the loft and fly right into the house! Jules is our newest addition, an incredible gift from the lofts of the wonderful Dave Mott. We think we're going to get some fabulous little ones from this pair!

Marjan and Rami, our absolutely stunning black Lahores. Rami was shown at Nationals in 2009 by the American Lahore Club's Barry Wagner and took home the Grand Reserve Champion title! Of all the birds at the show he stood out the most, so proud and perfect - We knew we had to have him! Marjan is a doll, very sweet and happy to sit in a lap watching Television. Rami is a big boy, and he likes to give a good slap if he thinks you're being fresh with him. We are striving to bring back the smaller, tighter feathered Lahore of yesteryear - focusing on type and markings instead of giant size. Babies expected in 2010. 

Fall in love with the Berliner Kurze - we sure have! Is it the booties? The cartoon faces? The Zitter-Hello we get every time we walk in the loft? All of the above! We've brought two stellar lines together: Ava, a beautiful hen from Diane Jacky, and Bernard, a highly coveted Heppner Sky Blue Berliner, to create some really special babies. Better photos coming soon, but we thought this one of them in their Quarantine cage was cute because they loooove that silly bell and ring it all day long!!

Meet The Duchess! Hands down our best foster Mommy, this gorgeous Westie was bred by Tony Cardoza - and a gift from the DeCarlo Jr lofts. We couldn't be happier to have her in the family! Duchie was very resistant to having a bath when she first moved in, so we nicknamed her Pigpen. There was just no getting her in the bath! We finally resorted to showering her down in the house , and she really loved the pampering!! Duchie is a great girl. Originally paired up with Sylvie to make Super Team FosterMoms! However, now that Sylvie has moved in with Jack, Duchie is looking for that someone special... and we're hoping he'll be one of Matt Matuska's gorgeous boys! 

OK, OK... there is definitely nothing ordinary about Brooklyn! Packed with personality, Brook is a real People Pigeon, and he LOVES Kari Jo. And his stuffed yellow bunny... and his Disco Ball... and his two chihuahuas... and showering with Kari Jo! Yep, Brook pretty much gets to do whatever he wants. Brook is a real snuggler, cuddler, and lover - a true testament to the type of wonderful and charming companion a pet pigeon can be. Picked up out of a street puddle in Brooklyn, NY when he was just 5 days old, there was nothing special about him. No superior breeding lines. No special pedigree. But he has shown that any pigeon has the potential to be an incredible companion. 

Our beloved Mickey passed away in June of 2009 due to complications from a tissue growth in his throat. We were devastated to lose this incredible little bird. Mickey, one of Diane Jacky's little stunners, was very special - perfect in every way, with a personality that couldn't be beat. Mickey really has a strong place in our hearts and we will remember him forever.
